About Us.The Museum of the San Rafael tells the story of life in the San Rafael Swell throughout time. The swell is a geologic feature made up largely of great sandstone formations and winding gorges created by rivers. The museum’s exhibits include information on dinosaurs, Native American and early settler life, geology, and animals native to the area.
